Winds
Russia the great, the Earth Mother,
Thou draw regards by beauty
Of wide stretches!
Russia the Mother, thou saw many sorrows,
And by clear day the bitter lot came!
The winds, driving severe clouds,
Did not tell mighty trees,
Did not tell the Earth Mother
About the approaching bitter lot…
Why you, winds-windies,
Forgot, and let yourselves go!
You forgot, oh, strong windies,
And did not tell!
Why you, windies, didn’t tell us,
Did not tell!
Tut! Winds, where your pieces of news,
Winds the severe?!
You, windies, bore so long
This piece of ruthful news…
Foes came to Rus,
To this rich land.
So, the trouble came to Mother-Russia,
Hail, kin, gather forces – ferocious power.
Protect sons of Rus,
Thou, our God Perun,
Give us Thine power, Earth Mother,
Our native land!
Where are you, strong armours, and oaken shields,
Steeds with unfettered mane, steeds,
Good horses?
Please, mothers, don’t cry, accompany us
With songs,
And be prepared to meet us,
With the grand triumph.
'cause the trouble came to Mother-Russia
And there will be a terrible, fatal battle,
Which brings death.
I love to listen to this during work, it fills me with calmness and I can almost smell the scents of the forest.
Beautiful & serene from start to finish. SilverFolfy
Ukranian metal band Motanka give new meaning to the word “epic,” writing towering songs that combine folk & hard rock. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 10, 2019
I have little to no idea as of why I got this, maybe suggested because I got a Woodscream album, which is also a symphonic female-fronted "singing in Russian" band? in any case, I like this stuff, not my all time favorite but symphonic metal in Russian is like a metal holiday from my more classic metal routine :) sachavonkarl74
